1pm – Countdown to Edcamp Michiana 2018!!
If you registered for this year’s Edcamp online, there is no need to register on Saturday morning. That leaves more time to get to know your fellow Edcampers and of course, donuts. Doors open about 8:30am, the day’s learning starts around 9am.
John Young Middle School is undergoing some important renovations this fall, so our normal entrance will not be available. Entering off of Main St, there are two parking areas available to Edcampers. The furthest south lot is the most convenient. Park and then proceed through the courtyard to Entrance “Q”
Registration is not required. Useful, but if it slips your mind, don’t let that fact stop you from learning and sharing on Saturday.
If you want to make it easy to be eligible for door prizes and have a better chance at securing a donut, you can register here. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/edcamp-michiana-17-tickets-37624081641
The third annual Edcamp Michiana will return to the greater South Bend area on October 7th, 2016. This year’s Edcamp will once again be the center of self-directed learning for Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan. Held at School City of Mishawaka’s John Young Middle School, this terrific day of learning and sharing will kick off with registration and breakfast at 8:30am.
You can register for the free event at our event page. Edcamp Michiana Registration
The learning starts at 9am and wraps up around 1pm. (In plenty of time for Saturday college football and not a ND home game date)
Tell your peers, tell your friends, heck, even tell your administrator.
This is how PD is done!
For our session facilitators, courtesy of Corwin Press, we will be offering a choice from their Connected Educator Series.
From their site: The Corwin Connected Educator series is your key to unlocking the greatest resource available to all educators: other educators. Using social media and Web 2.0 technologies, you’ll learn and collaborate with one another in new ways. These short volumes feature practical strategies to use right away—and the series website lets you connect with authors and access additional resources.
In addition to offering each of these titles individually, Corwin Press also bundles these great titles together in cost saving bundles. Check them out. Connected Educator Series
We’ve read several of these great titles from some of our favorite educators and extremely happy to offer one of these titles to each of our session facilitators as a way of saying thanks for starting the learning conversation.
